Founded by young African changemakers who experienced displacement and inequality firsthand, AYIODE is built on a bold belief:

Our Story

Born from Lived Experience

AYIODE was born from a deeply personal experience.

Our founder, James Bahati, grew up in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in a region affected by conflict. In 2022, war forced him to flee his home and become a refugee in Uganda.

Despite displacement, he continued studying and later received support from organizations that believed in his potential.

"If opportunities could transform his life, they could transform the lives of millions of young Africans."

That experience sparked a lifelong mission. AYIODE was created to ensure that no talented African youth is limited by circumstance.
